Although a proposal is exciting, and you might be filled with blissful anticipation for the wedding itself, what many brides and grooms don’t tell you is just how stressful the lead-up to a wedding can be. Some people even stop doing the hobbies that they love to plan their wedding instead, while others crumble under stress and end up falling ill. To ensure this doesn’t happen to you, there are some steps that you can take that will help you stay healthy in the run-up to your big day.

· Delegate Tasks to Others

As a bride or groom, you might believe that because it is your wedding, the planning is up to you. One person cannot plan an entire wedding unless they want to give up their full-time job, though. Instead of burdening yourself with visiting venues and contacting caterers, you should try to delegate some of the tasks to others that you trust. Although you should always give your input and view these before the big day, by delegating the initial processes, you will be able to focus on more in life than just your wedding and feel better for it. For instance, you might get other people to find lists of wedding bands and florists or send out the invitations on your behalf.

· Get the Contact Details of Suppliers

Before your wedding, there is likely to be a lot of sleepless nights where you will be left worrying about the day to come. You might rise in the morning full of questions, and they might niggle at you throughout the day. To put your mind at rest, you should make sure that you keep the contact details of your suppliers within easy reach at all times so that you can ask them any burning queries that you have. It is also important to have backup suppliers arranged if one lets you down or turns out to be busier than expected during your wedding period.

· Plan Your Venue Long in Advance

Some people only think about the venue with a few months to go until their proposed wedding date and find that they cannot get the venue of their dreams, leaving them stressed about the entire situation. To prevent this, you should look around venues long in advance and get on with booking it out. This will give you first pick over your preferred dates. Not only this, but it will also allow you to give your guests all the required information long in advance, increasing the likelihood that they will be able to make it. To find a venue, you might decide to look online or head to wedding open days so that you can see what each venue offers and imagine what a wedding would be like there. This might also give you the opportunity to find exclusive wedding venues.

· Plan a Private Occasion

Many people become stressed and ill because their wedding has started to get out of control and is overwhelming them. If this is the case before your wedding, just imagine how hectic the special day will be, especially if you are sensitive or an introvert. Rather than invite hundreds of guests to a venue in a busy town center, you should consider hosting a smaller and more intimate wedding that you will treasure in your mind forever without having to worry about the happiness of people that you barely know. This can also limit the ever-high expectations of your guests. The smaller the wedding is, the easier it should be to plan, too.
