When one can think of IVF?

IVF which is also known as the in vitro fertilisation is a much easier process than that of an artificial insemination. Here, in IVF, the process includes the combination of sperms and eggs outside the body in a lab. When the embryos are formed, then they are placed in the uterus.

There are many IVF Specialists in noida and couple who are suffering from infertility issues visit them. So, when one should or can go for the IVF option? Well, if any one of the couple gets diagnosed with the following issues, then IVF can be the solution.

  • Low sperm counts.
  • Endometriosis
  • Problems with the uterus or fallopian tubes.
  • The inability of sperm to penetrate or survive in the cervical mucus.
  • Problems with ovulation.
  • Antibody problems that harm sperm or eggs.
  • Any unexplained fertility issues.

But again, going for an IVF is never the first step when one goes for the treatments regarding infertility. It can happen if there is a complete tubal blockage. So, firstly people or doctors mostly try on surgery, fertility drugs and artificial insemination. If none of them works, then only one can start thinking of IVF.

If one is thinking of undergoing an IVF procedure, then here are some questions that should pop up in one’s mind:

  • What is one’s pregnancy ratio per embryo transfer?
  • What is the live birth rate for all the couples who undergo this procedure each year nearby you?
  • What is one’s pregnancy rate for couples in their age group and with their fertility issues?
  • How many of those IVF deliveries are twins or other multiple births?
  • How much does it cost to store embryos and for how long one can store them?
  • How much will the procedure cost including the cost of the hormone treatments?
  • Should one participate in the egg donation part?

When it comes to IVF procedure, the first step is to inject hormones so that one can produce multiple eggs every month instead of producing only one. Then one will also be tested in order to determine whether they are ready for egg retrieval or not.

Before the retrieval process starts, one will be given an injection or some medicines so that it can ripen the developing eggs and then start the process of ovulation. Here, timing is important because the eggs are needed to be retrieved just before they emerge from the follicles of the ovaries. If the eggs are taken out too early or too late then it will not develop normally. So, the doctor can also go for some blood tests or a USG to find out whether the eggs are at the right stage of development before retrieving them.

In this entire procedure the doctor will try to locate the follicles present in the ovary with the help of a USG and then remove the eggs with the help of a hollow needle. The time that is needed for it is from 30 minutes to an hour.
