Are you concerned with the signs of aging in your face?

Calcium HydroxylapatiteHyaluronic AcidAutologous Fat TransferPolymethylmethacrylateChoose The Right Filler For Your Body Type

Our face is one of the most exposed parts of the body, and we tend to display emotions like anxiety and happiness on it. Over time, this can cause signs of wrinkles and sagging skin. The medical field has created many ways for you to look younger again.

This article will discuss different types of fillers used for cosmetic purposes and how one can benefit from them. Read on to find out more.

Calcium Hydroxylapatite

Calcium hydroxylapatite is a type of cosmetic filler used to fill wrinkles and give the skin a youthful and plump look. It’s made from minerals naturally found in bones and teeth, often referred to as ‘bone filler’. This filler has a longer-lasting effect than other types of fillers but usually requires more maintenance treatments over time.

It offers fewer side effects than synthetic fillers and is less likely to cause an allergic reaction. Calcium hydroxylapatite also stimulates the production of collagen and can be used for tighter skin, contouring, and volume restoration.

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid, also called HA, is a natural substance found in the body that helps to keep the skin hydrated and looking smooth. It can also be used as a filler to add volume to lips and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. HA fillers may include other ingredients, such as collagen or fat, which can add additional benefits.

It is also safe to use around the eyes and does not require any pre-testing. For patients that want to reduce deeper wrinkles and lines and create volume, non-permanent dermal fillers may be a better option. A consultation with a medical provider can be a helpful way to determine if fillers or Botox are right for you.

Autologous Fat Transfer

Autologous fat transfer is among the types of cosmetic treatments that use a fat that has been harvested from a patient’s body tissue.  As an advantage of autologous fat transfer, the body will not reject the injection due to its natural origins. The disadvantage of autologous fat transfer is that the body can absorb a portion of the injected fat.

Hyaluronic acid is a commonly used injectable filler that works to fill wrinkles, scars, and other depressions in the skin. It is a clear gel that is less likely to cause an allergic reaction when administered. This quick treatment option can last up to a year before it may need to be topped off.

Polymethylmethacrylate

One type of facial filler used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles is polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), a semi-permanent facial filler. PMMA is composed of tiny, spherical-shaped polymer beads that are injected beneath the skin. The beads remain in place for at least six to twelve months, giving a smooth, youthful appearance.

Treatment with PMMA usually requires fewer injections, and the results are considered to look more natural than other types of facial fillers. There are some risks associated with PMMA injections, such as lump formation, inflammation of the skin, and infection, which can all be minimized with treatment by a qualified healthcare professional.

Choose The Right Filler For Your Body Type

Fillers can be an effective way to improve the look of aging. They provide natural-looking and long-lasting results. If you are considering the use of fillers, discuss your options from these types of fillers with a qualified medical professional to ensure the best outcomes.
