Simple tricks to help you in cleaning the Microwave

Have you recently noticed a weird smell in your microwave? If yes, then the reason behind it can be your lack of cleaning it. A microwave is your quick buddy but you do need to take care of it. With time the microwave can accumulate oil stains, grime, and dirt which you will need to clean. It may seem like a tedious task but it is actually very easy to clean the microwave. So, if you are procrastinating about that cleaning, these tips will definitely help you to have a nice fresh smelling microwave right now.

Tips on Cleaning the Microwave:

  1. One of the best tips that we may give is to clean microwave with lemon. Lemon is widely available and it doesn’t cost very much. So, in this trick, all you will need is a lemon and a bowl containing half cup of water. Microwave the bowl for 2 minutes and then let it stand in the microwave for 5 minutes. Then open the door and remove the bowl. Now, you may dismantle the turntable and wipe clean all the parts of the microwave. You may also dip your dishcloth again in the lemon water and then wipe a spot that has a tough stain.
  2. Another easy way is to use baking soda to get the nasty smell of your microwave. You will require quite a bit of baking soda. Take it into a bowl and let it rest inside the microwave overnight. We will assure you that the soda will suck in all the bad smell and it will be fresh in the morning.
  3. White Vinegar is another great addition to your pantry. The acetic acid is known to fight off bad stains in one’s life. Take half a cup of vinegar and half a cup of water in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave it for about 2 minutes and then let it sit in the microwave for about 10 minutes. Open the door and take out the bowl. You may wipe clean the microwave with a sponge and it will take only minutes. Handle everything with care as it will be hot. You may add some lemon or orange essential oil to the vinegar to mask the strong smell.

Make it a habit to clean the microwave from time to time. This will reduce the oil stains and the nastiness that most of the microwaves go through. Also, always turn off the microwave and remove the plug before you clean it.
