1. There’s a wealth of destinations to choose from
One of the great aspects of America is how many different destinations there are for you to travel to within the country. You’ve got locations such as LA, Disney World, and NYC that are famous worldwide, as well as plenty of areas that don’t get so much international attention but are well worth a visit. 2. Getting there is often easier
Lots of people are put off traveling by the prospect of a 12+ hour flight. However, that’s not a problem when you choose a staycation. Lots of amazing cities are within easy reach, whether it’s via a short flight or a flexible road trip. That means you don’t need to worry about issues such as jet lag, massive time differences, or anything else that makes international travel a headache. Not to mention, when you arrive, you won’t have to struggle with driving on the opposite side of the road or navigating a confusing public transport system!
3. There’s no language barrier
If you’ve traveled abroad to a country where you don’t speak the native language, you probably know how difficult it can be. Even simple acts such as ordering food in a restaurant or catching a bus can become much more challenging! While there’s a lot to be gained from learning a second language, this is another concern that simply disappears when you staycation in the US. There’s often a lot of admin and prep work that needs to be done when you travel abroad. You might even have to get additional vaccinations depending on where you want to go. However, if you choose a staycation, then you don’t need to bother with any of that – taking away much of the stress of vacation planning.

If you’ve got young children or dogs, traveling overseas can become much more of a headache. The prospect of getting on a long-haul flight with an infant is daunting, and lots of doggie parents are reluctant to put their fur baby in a kennel so they can go abroad. With a staycation, you can opt for a road trip instead and bring the whole family along with ease. You can stop wherever you want to let the kids and dogs run around, and you won’t have to worry about your crying child disturbing other travelers. You’ll be traveling your way, at your pace.
