BABY, IT'S COLD OUTSIDE...

So, I know I just did a post like an hour ago, but it's snowing and I don't want to walk clear over to my car...

To stall, I made a
 {awkward}
video
of myself at work.
 Cause I was the last one there, and... yeah.

Also, it just stops randomly at the end cause my camera dies...

Also, my throat is sore... so I hope you can hear me...

Also, this is embarassing.

the end.

WRECK THIS JOURNAL

I bought this.

I didn't think I could fall in love so fast.

But I did.

I love it.

It's therapeutic.

Seriously.

Another thing, I'm stressed.
I'm not going to lie to you.

I'm at the end of my rope.

So, last night, I pulled this out.

And did this page....

I feel much better now.

FAB FRIDAY!!! KASSI FROM TRULY LOVELY WITH A TRULY LOVELY BLANKET TUTORIAL!

Hello Lovely Vintage Wanna Bee readers!!
I am so thrilled to be guest posting here for the lovely Nichelle!

I am a huge fan of the VWB blog and her Etsy shop as well!!

Without further ado... I'm Kassi from Truly Lovely!

You can read more about me and my blog by clicking that lovely little button down there. :)
Truly Lovely
Today I would like to share a SUPER EASY fleece blanket tutorial with you!!
Photobucket

The materials needed are:
2 yards of fleece fabric
1 package of coordinating satin blanket binding
Coordinating yarn
Coordinating sewing thread
Pins
Yarn Needle
Scissors
Sewing Machine

Photobucket

In this case I went with zebra fabric and all red coordinating materials.

First trim your fleece fabric of any uneven edges or those funky white labeled edges... You know what I'm talking about... :)

Then, using the Yarn Needle, stitch your thread down the two length sides of your fabric like so... I spaced each stitch about a half an inch apart...

Photobucket

Next you'll pin and trim your satin binding to the two width sides (the two shorter sides)... The binding will have a fold down the middle, simply line that fold up with the edge of your fabric, making sure it's centered so there's an even amount of binding on both sides...

Photobucket

Fold over the edges of the binding to make your four corners and pin those as well. You can either trim or fold the extra binding inside to make your corner.

Photobucket

Once you have the binding pinned onto both sides, get out the sewing machine. I used red thread to match the binding...

If you sew really well, you can use a varying color of thread for added pop!!! I don't so much... SO matching thread hides my inexperienced sewing skills. :)
(I'm a little addicted to zebra print... can you tell?!?)

Photobucket

Simply sew the binding to the fleece pulling pins as you go.

And TaDA!!!! A SUPER EASY fleece blanket made by you!
They make great baby gifts, or gifts for friends or family!! :)

Photobucket

Hope you enjoyed my tutorial!!

I would love it if you would pop over to Truly Lovely to say hi!
AND if you like what you see we would LOVE a follow! :)
Hope to see you there!!

THANKS SO MUCH TO THE LOVELY MISS NICHELLE OF VINTAGE WANNA BEE for allowing us to share with you all today!!!

FAITH, TRUST AND A LITTLE PIXIE DUST...

Hey friends,
I'm super sorry about this past bit.
I moved.
I was sick.
I received my monthly gift.
I still had to work.
I still had classes.
I have no Internet at my apartment, so I can't just blog when I have down time.
I still had reports, tests and assignments.
Of course, I still had to be social...

So the blog got put on the back burner.
But, things will get better.

So, Michelle to the rescue...
(You'll like her. Why? Cause she's awesome,
and her name is almost my name!)
I'm so glad my original bloggy friend is posting today.
She really is.
She was my first follower.
I love her.
She's awesome.

I got to meet her not to long ago...
But, before I met her, I met her son, which was awesome, but disappointing cause it wasn't her...
Her son, Jeff, goes to USU too.
He needed a ride home, so I volunteered, *cough* just so I could meet her.

So, if any of you have sons that need rides home,
let me know, and then we can meet.
Now, here's Michelle from
Faith, Trust and a Little Pixie Dust...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
First of all,
one of my favorite things about blogging
is the great people you "meet"!
Nichelle
was a kindred spirit from the start!
(And if I could hand-pick a daughter,
it would be someone just like her.)
 Recently, we were able to meet in person.
And it was so fun.
(This is Nichelle typing... if we ever meet, I'm super white... just warnin' ya... like, glow in the dark white. Unless we meet in the Summer, then I will be pink.)
As a guest on Nichelle's (**AWESOME**) blog,
I wanted to share a project I finished recently . . .
"Annie",  my 11-year-old client just
got new bedding & we wanted something to
add a little pizazz & whimsy to her room.
Since my free-hand drawing skills are pathetic lacking,
we borrowed an overhead projector from the
church library to project  pictures from the internet on the wall.
(I saw this idea recently on Mandi's Vintage Revival's blog)
USE A PENCIL TO LIGHTLY TRACE THE LINES.
HELPFUL HINTS:
The branch photo was full color, so we copied it in B&W onto
a transparency with a computer printer.  This made it easier to
see the contrasts & draw the image on the wall. The birds were
from a different image than the branch & we put them together.
ALSO, if you find a tree you like, you don't have to draw every branch--
we simplified ours!
All that's left to do is color it in with paint!
This is one of those time that you DON'T want to color
within the lines! Make sure to cover the pencil markings.
The amazing part is that
this project only cost $1!
That's right--all we had to pay for were the transparencies.
We used the same green paint left over from painting
some of the other walls in Annie's room.
AND my client already had the pink paint in her
craft supplies.
Annie loves it & so do I!
MY LIFE RECENTLY
How's life for you?!
Mucho LOVE,
Nichelle
